Client education is the process of providing clients with the knowledge, information, and skills to enable them to make informed decisions about the Fire Safety.
Install smoke alarms and check them regularly. Place smoke alarms on every level of your home, especially near sleeping areas. Test them every month and replace the batteries at least once a year.
Make an escape plan and practice it. Make sure everyone in your family knows two ways out of every room and a meeting place outside. Practice the plan as a family at least twice a year.
Never leave burning candles unattended. Keep candles in sturdy holders and away from flammable materials. Always blow out candles before leaving the room.
Always supervise children when they are near fireplaces, stoves, matches, and lighters.
Store combustible materials like gasoline, paint, and cleaning supplies in an area away from heat sources and out of reach of children.
Do not smoke in bed.
Be careful when cooking. Keep combustible items, such as towels and pot holders, away from the stove. Keep a lid nearby when cooking to smother a small fire.
Keep a fire extinguisher in the kitchen and know how to use it.
Make sure your home has adequate wiring and follow manufacturer’s.
